2010 will hopefully be a different story

After Tuesday's Smackdown! tapings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it looks like disaster may have struck for one of the company's best young rising stars.During a match with R-Truth, John Morrison apparently hurt his ankle after attempting what was described as a frog splash.The match was immediately cut short and R-Truth, a trainer, and a referee had to help a hobbling Morrison up the ramp and through the curtain.I then saw another report that quoted Morrison as saying that he had, "broken my ankle in three places", and, "I'm just going to walk it off."After reading all of this, I thought, "oh crap."Morrison is arguably the fastest rising star in all of the WWE and sustaining an injury as severe as that would probably mean that the "Friday Night Delight" would probably be missing WrestleMania.Rumor has it that Morrison is the favorite to win the "Money in the Bank" ladder match and eventually win his first world title.Obviously all of that would be thrown out of the window with an injury like that.Getting injured right before WrestleMania is probably the worst thing that I could think of for a guy in Morrison's position.A blown shot at MITB would probably be the most devastating blow in Morrison's career.But after looking further into the situation, I read an article that claimed that Morrison's comments about his ankle was all tongue in cheek and that his ankle is really not that severely injured.I read suggestions that this all may be a way to get Shawn Michaels into the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship.If so, then fine, because I really don't believe that Morrison will be walking out of EC as the new champion.This would allow Taker and HBK to set up whatever feud they may be having for a potential WrestleMania rematch, and could probably point to a Morrison victory in the MITB match.So is this all for a storyline?To be honest I really don't know.It could be for all of the reasons that I listed above, and he really could be injured that badly.I haven't really read anything legitimate to suggest that this might be true, so I will have to wait for something else to come along that is official to prove this.At this point, everything is speculation and we will all find out more in the upcoming weeks.So is John Morrison really injured?I have no idea.At this point, it's nothing more than speculation and we will all have to wait and see what the truth is really, and if there is an injury, what the severity of it is.. He will easily be one of the most scrutinized picks of this upcoming draft, but there is no denying his experience in a pro system and the fact that he simply got better every time he stepped on the field for the Irish.
